Climate

an autumn scene with different color leaves on trees

There are four distinct seasons in Macon County.

Summer is not too hot and is the perfect time for hiking, biking, boating, outdoor sports and picnics.

In the Spring, we always have lots of beautiful flowers, and everyone enjoys the new leaves and the cool days.

During the Autumn, people travel for miles on Fall Foliage Tours to watch the leaves change colors.

Winters are generally mild.  We'll have a few days a year when it snows, the schools close and the kids enjoy making snowmen and sliding down the hills on homemade sleds!
